Houwan is a bay located in the southwest of Neian village and the north of Waian village, from Kuzibian to Biwei. Houwan (means "back bay") got its name because it is located in the back (north) of Neian village. Along the coast, you can not only see the basalt geologic scenery, but also a vast beach, white and flat, which serves as a location for the residents from the two villages to relax or do intertidal zone activities. The area is also known as "Baishawan," meaning "the bay of white sand." There is a plank footpath that fits the change of landforms. Walking on the footpath, you can enjoy the coastal scenery, and watch the Houziwei promontory of Chi Xi in the far north and the mariculture zones surrounded by this promontory
