Dongtai Fort

It is a battery built by Liu Mingchuan during the Qing Dynasty， which consists of two forts: the inner and outer one. It was built differently from Siyu Western Fort in terms of scale and protection system， but its equipment was more complete. This fort is also called Nanxi Fort， located at Dongbijiao in Neian Village. A part of this magnificent construction can be seen on the path going from Neian Village to Niuxinshan Hill. It was built in the same era as when Siyu Western Fort was built. Nowadays it is still in military usage， and is therefore only partially open to tourists.
