Houwan(means "back bay") got its name because it is located in the back (north) ofNeian village. Along the coast， you can not only see the basalt geologicscenery， but also a vast beach， white and flat， which serves as a location forthe residents from the two villages to relax or do intertidal zone activities. Thearea is also known as "Baishawan，" meaning "the bay of white sand." There is aplank footpath that fits the change of landforms. Walking on the footpath， youcan enjoy the coastal scenery， and watch the Houziwei promontory of Chi Xi inthe far north and the mariculture zones surrounded by this promontory.
