Checheng Station is the terminal station of the Jiji branch of the Western Line. In the early days it was the intermediary station for the light railway connecting Puli and Erhshui， now it is the "last train station" of the Jiji line railroad. Checheng used to be the main distribution center for the Nantou County's timber industry， however with logging gradually replaced by conservation， the timber industry also gradually declined. Nevertheless， the Checheng Recreation Farm now combines tourism resources such as "railroad culture"， "timber industry culture"， "electrical industry culture" and "agricultural specialty product culture and ecology". Furthermore， there are numerous sightseeing spots to attract the public: Ming Tan and Ming Hu Dam， Moso bamboo forest， Shang Mei Kuan Lan， a sightseeing area， scenery of the small wood industrial town， winery， Da Guan Gu Tunnel， Shui Liu Bridge， wood industry hall and handcar.
