Attraction Highlights－Rock climbing, skateboarding, inline skating— the extreme sports venue is a bravery test.－Natural water purifier for old street stream — astonishing ecological technique.Xinshi Park is located in Pingzhen District, Taoyuan City, covering over 4.6 hectares. It is a recreational park that contains various recreation facilities, a basketball court, an ecology pond, a skateboarding venue, a big green field, a jogging path, a fitness area, a gravel area, a lookout platform, etc. Also, you can find special facilities such as an extreme sports venue, a children’s rock-climbing venue, and a gate ball court. It is a perfect place for all ages to enjoy themselves.The most unique thing about Xinshi park is the establishment of the “Gravel Contact Oxidation Treatment System.” Using the ecotechnology of decomposing organic matter, the underground household wastewater in Xinshi District and Songwu District of Pingzhen is intercepted; the water from Laojie River is then brought in to clean and dispose of the wastewater. It is as if a gigantic natural water filter for Laojie River were installed. The purified water is brought into the Park's scenic pond, which has an aquatic plant area nearby. The rest of the water flows into Laojie River to achieve the goal of improving the water quality. One thing worth mentioning is that this construction is underground, so the surface can still be used for landscaping and leisure activities. This construction was even selected as one of “Taiwan Excellent Architectural Projects 2013,” which transformed the old Xinshi Park into a multifunctional park that provides scenery, sports venues, recreational facilities, ecological education, and water purification.In addition, the Park features an extreme sports venue popular among young people.
