Both official and local, Yuanlin shrine was built in Zhaohe 6 (1931) as a wuge shrine. In Zhaohe 17 (1942), it was upgraded to be a town shrine, one of the shrines at Yuanlin county during the Japanese colonization period. Three destiny god are worshipped at Yuanlin shrine (Daguo hunming, Shaoyan mingmin, Daji guiming) as well as Beibai chuangong nengjiu. There are three bird’s nests here that lead from worship path to the main hall. The bird’s nest on the worship has been changed into the plate of traditional temples. At the side of the worship path are stone lamp, copper horse and lion set that are well conserved. In 1960, the main hall of Yuanlin Shrine was tear down and changed into Haoran platform. Its first floor is a pavilion and the second floor is a martyr’s shrine that worships “Yanping junwang of the Ming dynasty”, “Sacrificed Soldiers” and “Revolution martyrs”.
