The Kaohsiung Guandi Temple used to be known as "Guandi Hall". After the liberation of Taiwan it was renamed "Wukuaicuo Wu Temple". Rebuilt in 1980, General He Ying-cin personally bestowed the plaque "Kaohsiung Guandi Temple". The popular god Guangong who was worshipped here was referred to as "Guandi". Recently, the Kaohsiung Guandi Temple has endeavored to unite religion, culture and tourism. During Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival the temple hosts many exciting activities. Some of these activities include Lantern Riddles, Peace Turtle, Peace and Longevity Noodles and their own Creative Lantern Festival. When visiting Kaohsiung during this festive season, it is highly recommended to participate in some of these traditional activities. Photos:
