Guangxinglong Bridge is a bridge in Taiping District near 921 Earthquake Memorial Park. It is over Toupienkeng River and links Taiping Road and Xinglong Road Section 1. Having survived the 921 Earthquake and several devastating typhoons, parts of the bridge were damaged and became fragile, so it was listed as a dangerous bridge as road accidents frequently occurred.A brand new Guangxinglong Bridge was built as part of the urban planning project. The image of a bat is incorporated into the design of the bridge as bat symbolizes well-being and fortune in traditional Chinese culture. Today, the new bridge blesses road users a safe trip home.The steel cables of Guangxinglong Bridge are decorated with LED lights that present light effects in blue, green, purple, yellow and more. Pedestrian and bike lanes on both sides of the bridge link the recreational area at Toupienkeng Riverbank where people can enjoy a bike ride and appreciate the beautiful scenery. Residents in the area also like to take a leisurely stroll here.
