The temple having been standing for over 300 years, Fongshan(Fengshan) Longshan Temple is the second-oldest of Taiwan's 5 Longshan Temples, and is classed as a second-grade heritage site. It is dedicated to the Bodhisattva Guanshiyin (Bodhisattva). The temple's earliest inscription, “southern clouds and eastern sun”, shows that the temple was probably built in the early period of the Qianlong Emperor's reign. Although it has been refurbished several times, Longshan Temple's rich traditional temple architecture and craftsmanship have been preserved in their entirety, like a traditional artisan's palace of art. The temple packages specially-made peace cakes, fullness zongzi and happiness cakes into boxes, allowing visitors to eat peace after burning incense.
