Dapu Beiji Temple in twenty-five years of Qianlong (1760 AD), the Zhangzhou immigrants carry Supreme Emperor of the Dark Heavens incense, came formerly known as Jiu Dapu Chuang, Dapu Township, as a permanent place of residence. Mr. Huang a-xie proceeds to build the temple, carved and gilded Buddha worship. So far has more than 240 years. Several times renovation by villagers and gentry making incense continuation, become a religious center in Dapu Township. In 1984, Beiji Temple Management Committee believe that the beams have worms, so they decided to re-expansion, to raise funds to complete the construction. Beiji Temple is located next to the main streets in the urban area, is the religious center of the local residents. The annual lunar March 3rd is important festivals, and it buzzes. Beiji Temple worships the Lord God Supreme Emperor of the Dark Heavens, and the Shennong Great Emperor , the Jade Emperor,Groundskeeper God, Lao Zi, Songzi Niangniang, Zhong-Tan Marshal, Mazu, and Avalokiteshvara. Front of the Beiji Temple has two pairs of large stone lions. The body hung with coins or tread the ball of the male lion tread the little lion is the lioness. Legend, if want for offspring, the first touch the male lion, then touch lioness.
