Putou Street & Yaolin Street

In the Qing Dynasty， Putou Street and Yaolin Street were the earliest developed the markets in the city. The features of the buildings there were the "street in front， brook at the back." In front of the houses， people operated shops， whose rear was the canal for loading and unloading cargos. Later， the canal declined due to the excess sediments. These houses are built with red bricks in Quanzhou style. The old wooden window frames， copper door rings， and more add much to the nostalgic feel.
