Shenkeng Bridge Monument is next to Shenkeng Dist. Health Clinic, on the way from the end of Shenkeng Street to Zhongzheng Bridge (previously known as Shenkeng Bridge). The monument is over 70 years old, witnessing the past of boat traveling between the shores. The carvings also reveal the story of bridge-building during the Japanese Occupancy. Although a portion of the scripts on the front is partly damaged by wind erosion, the monument tells the story of building the suspension bridge by fund raising. The bridge was completed in 1925, with scripts of an article written by Mr. Kawashima, the then principal of Shenkeng Elementary School.
