S anZhong Temple, or Three Obediencies (to Father, to Husband, and to Son)Temple is also known as Sangong (ThreeSirs) Temple and wasestablished in the 7th year of the Jiaqing Reign Period, about 18 02. It was originally intended for worship of an imported deity from FujianProvince known as Sir Wuntiansiang (Literature Soaring in the Heavens). Later in the 7th year of the Tongzhi Reign Period (1868) it was refurbished and idols to Loyal Subject Lu Xufu (1237-1279) and the Spirit of Zhang Shijie (?-1279) were added. So they renamed it Sangong, which literally means Three Sirs. It serves as the epicenter of faith for the people of Shuangxi and there are always incense burning in the tripod urn. Presumably we can conclude that each one observed one of thethree loyal oaths particularly scrupulously to be revered so.
