Built in 1754, the Upper Taishan Temple is the oldest temple in Taishan. At the time, it was called "Fushanyen Temple" but was renamed to "Upper Taishan Temple" when centuries later a malicious fire burned down the structure. The Taishan District was named after the landmark, showing the importance of the temple for the locals. Classified as a third grade historical site, the 250-year-old Chinese architecture has a southern-styled interior layout, with Xianying Buddhist Master at the center of the solemn main hall and other deities such as Ksitigarbha, Guanyin, Wenchang Dijun, etc. on the two sides, receiving countless worshippers and visitors each day. The Qitou Trail nearby is a famous trail in Taishan, which leads to Ming Zhi Academy and Yixuekeng.
