The Lalijian Mountain Trail is one of Pinglin's most famous places to walk. The entrance is by County Road 106B， along the mountain road to the left of Wenshan Temple when you are heading from Shiding to Pinglin. It takes about half an hour to reach the pavilion on top of the mountain. The trail is tranquil and its best characteristic is the scenery， which is filled with traditional tea farms. From the peak the scenery opens up even more， and in the distance you can see both Feitsui Reservoir and Taipei 101. The best time of the day to be here is at sunset， when the green pallor cast over the mountain water turns a golden yellow， making it look like a dreamland. If you are lucky， sometimes on this 700-meter peak you can see the sea of clouds， an incredible sight and a rarity at such a low elevation.
