The Cijin Strait

Apart from the Lighthouse and fort， Cihou Mountain was also once restricted to the public. This meant few had ever seen these natural views of the strait. Within the steep limestone of the cliffs is a military tunnel dug during the Japanese Colonial era. This tunnel connects Cijin Beach to the Strait's coast. Recently， Kaohsiung City Government has converted the tunnel into the "Starlight Tunnel"， which now connects the Strait with the Cijin Seaside and the Cijin Ocean-view Bike Path This is a popular attraction for residents and tourists alike.
