Built in 1732, Shengwang Temple, also known as Weihui Temple, was damaged in the Chen Chou-Chuan Uprising and restored in Jiaqing and Guangxu Periods. It is an old temple enshrining the Saint of Zhangzhou, Chen Yuan-Kuang. It is a Guardian Temple, as well as the belief center for Zhangzhou people in Changhua City. Chen Yuan-Kuang of Tang Dynasty was the first settler in the Southern Fujian Area from Guangzhou, Henan Province. He was commended for his success in developing Zhangzhou and conferred the titled Saint of Weihui (Weihui Sheng Wang).
