Changhua Cing-an Temple, also known as the Yintongzu Temple, enshrines the Heavenly Emperor of Medicine (Baosheng Emperor), central to the beliefs of the Quanzhou people in the capital city of Changhua County. In Jiaqing 22 (1817), migrants from Tongan County raised the funds to build this temple. The plaque inscribed in the words “Yintong Temple” refers to the clan from Tongan. The Baosheng Emperor, also known as Wu Chen-Jen or Dadaogong, was a physician named Wu Chen. He was a Song Dynasty physician in Baijiao Tongan County. Legend has it that he was a miracle healer.
