Located at the back of the old Chungshan Hall in the Art Museum, Changhua, the three-hundred-year-old well is the only Dutch old well in the mid Taiwan. During the Dutch colonization period, many preachers and soldiers came to drink water from the well which is why the local people called it “hongmau well” or “fanzai well”.In addition to providing water for the nearby residents, the well has sweet and clear spring water good for making tea. Now it has a cool shelter constructed around it and the nearby Fude God that conveys, “drinking the water while pondering on its source.”
