The Vision Hall of the Wind City sits across from the Glass Arts and Crafts Museum. Built in 1959, the building was originally the auditorium for the Air Force corps of engineers. In 2000, the municipal government converted the building into Vision Hall in order to tell the story of Hsinchu's development-past, present and future-as well as to house displays about Hsinchu's public infrastructure. In the lobby there is a model of the city as well as several large photos of its scenery. Apart from the permanent exhibits, the museum also hosts small temporary exhibitions and seminars.
