In the early days， the immigrants from Changchou and Chuancho scuffled for their territory resulting in tremendous deaths and injuries. Afterwards， both sides felt regret and consulted to build Laotakung tomb which has been renamed as Lotakung temple. On the 1st day of the lunar 7th month each year， when the ghost gate is opened， sensational ritual is to be held to worship the deaths. Due to this activity， Laotakung has earned its name island wide for the Pudu in the lunar 7th month.
