Beside the Sanxia History Museum is a nondescript building called the Indigo Workshop. From outside, it might not seem like much, but when you step in you will be amazed. By the counter are various indigo dyed products for sale, including hats, clothes, and apparel. Each item is highly artistic and generally all are hot sellers. Continue walking to the back of the workshop and you reach the classroom. The teacher can walk you through the process of first selecting a cloth and then tying it up and immersing it in dye numerous times before finally opening it so oxidation can set the color. To finish the dyeing process, hang the cloth in the courtyard outside the classroom. After it is completely dry, you can take it home to enjoy!
