Because the Yingge Ceramics Museum is located at a heavy traffic area on Wenhua Road, the building architect decided to use a fair faced concrete design with openings for the wall at the entrance. This represents that the wall is a barrier to the clamor outside, but also allows it to give passersby a vague image of the solitude that can be found inside. It is an ambitious building with two underground floors and three above ground that carry on the modern, concrete design theme seen at the entrance. As Taiwan's first museum dedicated to ceramics, it introduces the country's 200 years of kilns and clay baking. In the museum, there is also a ceramics workshop with complete teaching facilities, which are used for professional ceramics classes along with four daily classes geared toward visitors. The classes take place every Tuesday through Sunday and switch themes each month or season, letting visitors learn about and play with clay and ceramic objects. When you go out through, the back door of the main building, you enter to a ceramics park that is suitable for the whole family. It is especially popular among children in summer when the fountain area is open. The museum also runs its own store, which offers artistic and cultural pieces designed by museum staff along with items exclusively sold by the museum and created by independent artists.
