The "pleasure" in the Toast of Pleasure refers to cither "music" or "joy". The local people, instructed by the artist, mold and cast the cups, bowls, and plates they bring with them, into a man-made stone to form a semi-relief painting after vividly colored. The folw of water from the top of the piece represents the never-ending cycle of human cultural activities, while the adoption of the daily wares symbolizes the human cultures and synchronicity of the locality in response to the call of the Palace Museum, South Branch for a rendition of the Asian arts and cultures.
