Sungka is one of the folk games widely played in the Philipines. Up to now, the Philipino immigrants still keep playing in Taiwan, Europe, and America, etc. Dan, the artist, enlarges the game tackle, creates an exchange platform for the Asiam cultures, and showcases the images of the grass roots lifestyles from the different countries in the region. Born in the Philipines, he creates works including paintings and sculptures, and has been awarded prizes and recognitions: 2004 Freeman Foundation Asian Artist Fellowship, Vermont Studio Center, Vermont, USA Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) Awards.
