The trail connects Danshui and Yilan and its south- east part starts from Danshui. The mountain path passes through Wenshan， Shengkeng， Shiding， and Pinglin， then across the mountains to reach Yilan. The Shiding part of this trail was re-discovered during the reconstruction of National Freeway No.5. You can take the trail from the Danlan Suspension Bridge in Shuangsikou District and walk along the bank of Shiding River. This is an easy route for hiking and you can arrive at the Shiding Old Street after walking about two-kilometers.
