URS 21 CHUNG SHAN CREATIVE HUB is an "example space" demonstrating the execution of a creative urban regeneration project. As part of the Urban Regeneration Station (URS) project of Taipei City's Urban Regeneration Office, a group of designers sharing a background in architecture took a curatorial approach to completing this creative hub in a short period of time and on a limited budget. The purpose of the URS project is to reuse different corners of metropolitan Taipei and convert them into neighborhood-specific stations within the densely populated City, which are named after the address numbers and dedicated to various themed public events. URS 21 has drawn the attention of the government and private sectors since "Bad Maze", a mobile installation project involving interior and exterior designs, was unveiled 2 or 3 years ago, and published in an international city forum. The ensuing increase in small-sized design studios operating in URS 21 is transforming this creative hub into an arts and cultural spot that lures treasure-hunting design enthusiasts.
